About this Role
The Anesthesia Team Leader is someone who can fulfil the anesthesia assistant role on a long-term basis.
You will work closely with the Anesthesia Supervisor to provide stability in a rapid turnover and small department. You will orientate new volunteers to the anesthesia department and be a resource to new anesthesia assistants.
What You Will Contribute
• Fulfil responsibilities of an anesthesia assistant and provide direct medical care on a daily basis.
• You will have additional responsibilities of coordinating consumables and equipment with medical supply and the biomedical department.
• Maintain a culture of patient safety
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong administrative skills
For This Role, You Will Need
• Successful completion of Mercy Ships On Boarding program
• Mercy Ships Alumni required; knowledge of Operating Room procedures, standards and equipment
• Current, active license as anesthetic nurse, ODP, nurse anesthetist or equivalent
• Minimum of three years of Anesthesia experience
• Current Basic Life Support certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support are optional
• Written and verbal fluency in English
• Flexibility and sensitivity to language and cultural diversity
