About this Role

The Clubfoot Project Assistant assists in mentoring local clinicians in the Ponseti method of correcting clubfoot and in coordinating the set-up of a locally run, sustainable Ponseti clinic. Assists in the management (pre and post-op) of older clubfoot patients who are part of the orthopedic surgery program.

What You Will Contribute

• Assist in the treatment and coordination of children with clubfeet (0-15 years of age)

• Management of medical issues for the clubfoot caseload (incl. giving medication, wound dressings)

• Assist in the running of a Ponseti clubfoot clinic on a day to day basis

• Mentor local clinicians in the Ponseti method of correcting clubfoot and ensure excellent patient outcomes

• Assist in the coordination and set-up of a locally run, sustainable Ponseti clinic

• Provide administrative support for the Clubfoot Project to improve patient care and outcomes

For This Role, You Will Need

• Successful completion of Mercy Ships On Boarding program is required for commitments longer than 12 months

• Registered Physician’s Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse or Physical Therapist

• Experience assisting with casting and cast removal beneficial

• French language skills will be beneficial
