About this Role

The Clubfoot Program Physical Therapist assists in mentoring local clinicians in the Ponseti method of correcting clubfoot and in coordinating the set-up of a locally run, sustainable Ponseti clinic. Assists in the management (pre and post-op) of older clubfoot patients who are part of the orthopedic surgery program.

What You Will Contribute

• Assist in the treatment and coordination of children with clubfeet (0-15 years of age)

• Assist in the running of a Ponseti clubfoot clinic on a day to day basis

• Mentor local clinicians in the Ponseti method of correcting clubfoot and ensure excellent patient outcomes

• Assist in the coordination and set-up of a locally run, sustainable Ponseti clinic

• Provide administrative support for the Clubfoot Program to improve patient care and outcomes

For This Role, You Will Need

• Successful completion of Mercy Ships On Boarding program is required for commitments longer than 12 months

• Current/active Registered Physical Therapist license in home country

• Completed Ponseti specific training with a recognized individual or organization

• Treated a minimum of 10-15 clubfeet or has at least 6-12 months experience with treating clubfeet. Experience and demonstrated skills in the Ponseti method

• PIA Ponseti Provider accreditation or ACT Train The Trainer accreditation (or must be working towards one of these)

• French language skills will be beneficial
